About Us

Why We're Different

The BrightKey name comes from a saying from Benjamin Franklin: The used key is always bright. We put people and service first; we believe in actions not concepts. You’ll see that reflected in our value statements and in the focus of our leadership team. We live our commitment to diversity and inclusion. We work to improve the lives of our corporate family and those outside BrightKey who need a helping hand. Our nationwide reach means we’ll be wherever you need us!

Living Our Values

BrightKey’s values transform concepts into actions. Our values reflect our intentions and inspire us to be our best selves.

ROLL UP YOUR SLEEVES

Get the job done. Pitch in and do your part, and no part is too small. We’re a team.

FOCUS ON THE POSITIVE

Say yes. Yes, I hear you. Yes, I understand. Yes, let me see what I can do about that.

GIVE A HOOT

Own the task, step in, and be accountable for your actions. That’s the way we find solutions together.

SHOW THE LOVE

Appreciate the people around you and the opportunities they present. Celebrate diversity.

KEEP IT HONEST

Be true to your word, to yourself, to your clients, to your work family.

DO YOUR BEST

That’s all anyone can expect . . . to be your best with who you are today, and what you know today.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Welcome every day as a chance to make an impact in the world around you. Because you can.

Our Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion

BrightKey’s commitment to an environment that supports equal employment opportunity and non-discrimination for all persons, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, age, perceived or actual sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression, marital status, national origin, disability, and veteran status. To this end, we strive to maintain an inclusive environment for employees and clients and their customers, who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer (LGBTQ), regardless of whether or not they choose to share this information with others. We continually strengthen our ability to recruit, hire, develop, promote, and retain talent and remove barriers to equal opportunity. BrightKey provides resources and opportunities to strengthen and advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility within our workforce. We believe in the unconditional treatment of others with dignity and respect.

BrightKey Diversity & Inclusion Council

“This council exists to ensure that all employees, no matter their race, identity, views, and beliefs feel welcomed, celebrated, and proud to be a part of BrightKey. This will be accomplished by listening, constant evaluation, and acting upon insight. In doing this we will forge a better BrightKey that follows through on these promises both to the staff, and our clients alike.”

BrightKey embraces diversity with open arms. We are a company and community committed to the long-term investment of time, attention, and resources focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion. We’ve started the Diversity & Inclusion Council, an employee-driven and employee-led council. The D&I Council navigates continually changing demographic and social trends to develop concepts, policies, and practices to improve organizational outcomes. The D&I Council has become an agent for raising awareness and instituting change.

Community Support

BrightKey stands committed to supporting internal, local, and worldwide communities. We believe in encouraging and guiding the professional growth of our employees — promoting from within when possible. We support selected nonprofits at home and around the world, focusing on those that care for the welfare of people and animals at risk.

Key Impressions

Making a great first impression can be an important key to success in a business setting. That’s why BrightKey launched a professional development initiative to help team members shine with confidence.

The Key Impressions clothing boutique features a wide assortment of gently used, high quality business attire and accessories — helping employees dress for success.

Business and life skills workshops presented by guests and fellow team members cover everything from business communication to healthy eating and meditation.

All staffed by BrightKey volunteers…and all free!

SPCA OF ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY

Right in our corporate backyard, the AACSPCA has one of the highest lifesaving rates in the US. Their creative programs include Pets for Patriots and more.

Founded in 1920, the AACSPCA has grown to become a strong animal welfare organization. With a consistent four-star rating from Charity Navigator — the AACSPCA outperforms most charities in America.

BrightKey supports the AACSPCA mission to provide vaccines, food, and homes for thousands of pets each year. A fundraising highlight is the annual Lights on the Bay — and BrightKey’s display shines there every year!

Proud to support this advocate for animal welfare!

House of Ruth

Providing a safe haven for victims of domestic violence, the House of Ruth provides compassionate service to the community.

House of Ruth helps thousands of battered women and their children experience the safety and security that many of us take for granted helping them rebuild their lives safely and free of fear.

From its start in 1977
as a crisis shelter in Baltimore, House of Ruth now has an 84-bed shelter, transitional housing apartments, and a health clinic staffed by the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing.

Helping to end violence against women!

SHELDRICK WILDLIFE TRUST

BrightKey loves elephants, and Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya operates the world’s most successful orphan elephant rescue program in the world. Rhinos and giraffes also enjoy a safe haven at Sheldrick. But its work doesn’t stop there. It trains and deploys wildlife rangers, provides aerial surveillance to monitor threats to wildlife, and handles an ever-growing set of projects.

With five fully equipped Mobile Veterinary Units, Sheldrick has handled nearly 7,500 cases in critical conservation areas throughout Kenya. Their rapid  response Sky Vets team allows them to speed to the aid of any distressed, injured, or sick wild animal in need.

Saving elephants and protecting habitat!
